The Third Anticipation

Anticipation had been cited as capable of increasing appetite. But even with anticipation no appetite may increase when the third type of fiber called resistant starch is added into your meal. Although we have left out the benefits of resistant starch in our previous article because of spatial constraints, this week will disclose what so far medical researchers has found out.
 
 
“IF YOU cannot bite, do not show your teeth,” Jennifer Roberson advised in her Highlander book, Scotland the Brave (1996). Biting is one thing; throwing off the bad that comes with the biting is another.
 
We covered the resistant starch in a previous article but have to leave off on its health benefits.
 
First, the Anderson study in 2010 found out that resistant starch can specifically protect against colorectal cancer. It has also been found to reduce the intestinal crypt length so that after an average of 29 months of intake developing cancer cells in the gastrointestinal tract, even those lesions that been already cancerous, disappeared.
 
Second, resistant starch helps in managing excess weight through different processes such as fortifying of food with fiber, reducing caloric content of foods, initiating satiety fast, degrading fat and impact on stored fat.

Death By Heat Stroke in the Philippines

The hotter and earlier-onset El Niño phenomenon this year 2010 poses a threat to the Filipino lives. How much life it took? See incidence that reached the news. UPDATE  On 19 May 2010, candidate army soldier Ericson Pascua (22) came on his first day of training in Isabela when he collapsed after a series of strenous exercise. Although rushed to the hospital immediately, he died shortly afterwards (around 11 a.m.) due to heat stroke. That day Isabela peaked at 38.2 degrees Celsius.   (Source: Penzit, 2015) UNITED KINGDOM As of 29 December 2021, the UK Health Security Agency reported the current status of its Omicron cases under emergency care. The lowest emergency admission rate is among those who received one dose of vaccine up to 21 days before specimen date: 0.1%. However, the overall rate for vaccinated individuals was very high at 72.5%. The unvaccinated emergency admission rate was 25.3%.
